Federal Aviation Regulations Part 135 — The FAA safety rules and operating requirements for certain commuter and on-demand flight operations. NetJets companies operate all flights for Marquis Card Owners under FAR Part 135.
This NetJets requirement, also used by commercial airlines, requires that the pilot-in-command and an FAA-certified dispatcher agree that the plane is ready to take off. The weather must be acceptable, the weight-and-balance calculations must be double checked, and all of the dozens of other elements of a safe and comfortable flight must point unambiguously to “green”.
To be FAA type-rated means that a pilot is qualified to fly as captain in one specific aircraft type whether they sit in the left or right seat of the cockpit. All NetJets pilots are FAA type-rated.
