The Best Pilots in the Sky

Central to NetJets’ commitment to safety means having the best and most well-trained pilots in the world. Consequently, all NetJets pilots are ATP-licensed (the highest level of pilot license available), with an average of more than 7,500 hours of flight experience, and must attend semi-annual recurrent training.

  • 1 aircraft type flown per pilot

Below is a basic list of the rigorous requirements to which each NetJets pilot must adhere:


  • Training and flight time in only ONE type of aircraft (safety is further enhanced when a pilot concentrates on only one set of aircraft procedures and equipment)
  • Each NetJets pilot must have a current FAA first-class medical certificate
  • Full-motion flight simulator training twice a year (simulator training is crucial because it allows crews to practice managing multiple-event emergencies that would be impossible to safely create in a real aircraft)
  • FAA check ride "type rating" (aeronautical experience, knowledge and skills required to fly a particular type of aircraft)
  • Continuous in-house training including:
    • Domestic and international security and procedures
    • Medical emergency procedures
    • Hypoxia and high-altitude physiology
    • Advanced de-icing procedures
